Are You Afraid to Commit to Yourself?

Are You Afraid to Commit to Yourself?

Has there ever been a moment in your life when you were scared of the commitment you were about to make? Chances are it has happened at one time or another, either in your personal, professional, or social life. You are not the only one who has experienced this struggle prozac 10 mg. It’s difficult for many, primarily because once committed there are two possible outcomes: success or failure…both of which can generate anxiety or distress within an individual.

Don’t let fear consume you or prevent you from being the person you are capable of being. Every individual journey is different. Remember that along every journey there will be bumps in the road and hurdles to overcome, it’s just a matter of how dedicated you are to persevering up and over them.

Big Achievements are a Journey

Much of our society is based on the belief system that everything should be fast, easy and automatic. This misconception makes it difficult for people to see that, in fact, the best things in life you must commit to, stand up, and work hard for.

Take a look around you. All the individuals who you view as ‘successful’, regardless of their talent or natural ability, got to where they are by developing habits and a high-performance oriented personal culture that naturally balances three elements in their lives—the Performance Triad:

  1. A belief in a dream, a noble calling…something bigger than themselves.
  2. A persistent, relentless effort to reach their dreams
  3. Free Will. The ability to innovate, and avoid negative influences such as fear.

Do you work every day on your passion, free will and focus? The only right answer to this question is yes…so if not, what’s stopping you?

Fear of Success, Fear of Failure

No one is free from fear. Maybe you feel as if you’re not good enough or maybe you look to others for affirmation that what you’re doing is correct. This is a recipe for disaster. Whatever it may be that is holding you back is nothing but a mere challenge you must overcome. Many of us are born into a society with certain pre-ordained expectations. Other people impose a blueprint on you of what you’re expected to achieve in life. The pressure is to overcome this real. You must listen to your inner self; you must be your own coach and follow the path that is right for you, regardless of what others say.

In my personal case, many of my greatest career successes happened when I followed my gut and chose the harder path as opposed to listening to the “conservative” recommendations of others. Fear of failure is one of the biggest challenges of getting started, especially when you have others telling you that you’ll fail.

Don’t allow yourself to fear failure or success. View failure as a lesson you can learn from and apply going forward. While success might make you feel like a fish out of water temporarily, that should be expected, because it’s a new experience. Success is what you signed up for, not something to be feared.

Don’t Go It Alone

You’re not expected to endure the path of success alone, but it is imperative that you realize how important it is to be your own coach first. You are the only individual capable of discovering your noble calling and interim goals. You know what drives you and only you know what works best for you. Once you’ve found the answers within, then you can reach to the outside for guidance. This is ultimately about your noble calling, not anyone else’s.

Once you find your noble calling and the relentlessly align your passion, free will and focus towards achieving it, you will be able to develop the habits and extreme high performance lifestyle needed to make it a reality!
