About This Role

We are seeking an experienced IT System Administrator to manage and secure our cloud-based infrastructure supporting defense contract operations. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, and DFARS requirements while ensuring reliable, secure access to systems handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Controlled Technical Information (CTI), and Federal Contract Information (FCI). As the primary administrator for our Microsoft Azure Government Cloud (GCC High) environment, you will manage endpoint devices through Microsoft Intune, administer Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure for remote workforce access, and implement security controls aligned with federal compliance frameworks. Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure Administration • Administer and maintain Azure GCC High tenant, including identity management through Microsoft Entra ID, conditional access policies, and role-based access controls • Configure and manage Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including host pools, session hosts, application groups, and user assignments • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity; implement optimizations as needed • Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures Endpoint Management • Deploy, configure, and maintain endpoints through Microsoft Intune, including compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployment • Implement and enforce device security baselines aligned with DISA STIGs and CIS benchmarks • Manage device enrollment, retirement, and lifecycle processes • Troubleshoot endpoint issues and coordinate hardware refresh cycles Security & Compliance • Implement and maintain technical controls supporting CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certification • Configure and monitor Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel SIEM • Manage audit logging, log retention, and security event monitoring • Support internal and external security assessments, audits, and authorization activities • Maintain documentation, including System Security Plans, policies, and procedures User Support & Operations • Provide technical support for end users accessing systems via AVD and managed endpoints* • Manage user provisioning, access requests, and offboarding in coordination with HR and security personnel • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles • Coordinate with vendors and Microsoft support for issue resolution and service requests *End user technical support will require “on call” support outside of normal business hours. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in IT system administration with at least 2 years supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Intune device management and Azure Virtual Desktop administration • Working knowledge of NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0, and federal compliance requirements for handling CUI. • Experience implementing and maintaining security controls in regulated environments. • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID. • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail • Prior experience in the U.S. Armed Forces performing similar functions.

Basic Experience

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments or 5+ years of experience in IT system administration with at least 2 years supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments

Preferred Experience

• Master’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or related field • Experience specifically with Azure Government Cloud (GCC High) environments • Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-140, MS-102, or SC-300 • Familiarity with DISA STIGs and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tools • Experience supporting CMMC assessments or FedRAMP authorization processes • Background in defense contracting or DoD IT environments • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent baseline certification

Security Requirements

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. Export Controlled Requirements: U.S. Export Control Requirements must be met in connection with the position.
